It got to where it was too deep for me to keep pulling it out so I can't tell which tree it is coming from for sure, but maybe this one that has a yellowish hue to it. Does anyone know what kind of tree that is? I can't tell what kind of leaves it has.
I wonder if the tree will die if I cut that root off so I can plant my raspberry bushes?

It is not the tap root so I think it will be fine. Aaaaand, if you can pull up the root very easily, it isn't a well established tree.
We pull out roots like that every year of certain trees that start.
They seem to be bullies.
Go ahead and plant your berries. Having those berries to eat every year will be worth the life of a tree anyway. That is my two cents worth. LOL!
I had that same issue when planting my raspberries. I think mine may have been coming from lilac bushes.
